Singer-songwriter Robbie Breese was born in Ireland and moved to Minnesota at age 10. Musical foundations began in Ireland with piano lessons and continued in America with violin. Performance experience came in the form of theatre and improv from the age of 12 onwards. Breese picked up guitar at age 14 and joined a local church choir, and by age 16, the classical instruments existed comfortably alongside guitar and vocals.
Open mic’s and talent shows were the proving grounds for Breese’s career, and a deep love and engagement with musical theatre strengthened his stage presence and performance abilities. Between theatre, classical orchestras and choirs, jazz bands, and rock bands, Breese built up a large repertoire of skills and styles.
His first publicly released project came just after his 18th birthday, aptly titled “The 18th Demos”. Though stripped-back and certainly rough around the edges, with influences from musical theatre, jazz, and traditional Irish music, the project crafted a sound that managed to claim a place of its own among contemporary singer-songwriters.
Breese went on to complete a BA in Commercial Modern Music at BIMM University in Dublin, Ireland. Through this time, he expanded from personal music releases to session songwriting, live event music, and scoring for film, television, and video games, somehow picking up even more instruments along the way. Now a powerhouse songwriter with an intellectual style, Robbie Breese is ready for whatever musical challenge awaits him next.
